Label Expo Trip (1 October 2005)
Mike
and his lovely wife Lynn were invited to
LABELEXPO Europe 2005
in Brussels, Belgium late September 2005. They
discovered the latest developments in surface modification technology to
improve printing, coating and adhesion on plastics. For example,
IIMAK, clean start,
printhead cleaner, basically a strip of plastic 200mm long at start of
roll of ribbon, that you drag through the closed head at start of each
ribbon roll change, may suit some of our clients' requirements. This is
again shows that Xact Labels has capability to offer our clients the
best solution with leading technology and knowledge. Most important,
people at Xact Labels commits themselves to customers with our passion
on labels.

Xact Labelling acquires Wickliffe! (2nd May 2005)
Xact
is currently undergoing a highly successful growth phase and this latest
step, which became effective on 1 February 2005, reaffirms the company’s
leadership in the specialised field of self-adhesive labels with
the acquisition of the labels division of Wickliffe.
Clients of Xact and Wickliffe
can now look forward to even greater
benefits over time as the newly enlarged company pools its expertise.
Mike Davis, Managing Director of Xact Labelling, said, ‘There is always
the worry that as a company expands it loses focus on its customers and
loses the personal touch that helps make any business relationship
mutually profitable and enjoyable.
‘In
this case there are no such concerns. We have always been proud of our
customer-focused, service-oriented philosophy, and that will not
change.’
Mr
Davis went on to explain that Wickliffe’s customers would continue to be
serviced by Wickliffe’s representatives. Likewise, the personal contact
Xact customers currently enjoyed with their Xact representative would
not be affected.
‘In
fact,’ Mr Davis added, ‘customers of both companies will enjoy even
greater benefits from the pooling of talents, expertise and resources
between two leaders in this highly specialised industry.’
Established in 1996, Xact Labelling is based in West Auckland and
operates throughout New Zealand and in Australia. The merger means that
Xact now increases its staff from 12 to 30, and can boast over 100 years
of combined experience in the printing industry.
Meanwhile Wickliffe, founded as a stationery printer in 1948 can apply
more focus to its core business, which today it identifies as business
information management.
Xact
and Wickliffe customers should contact their representatives if they
require further information, or can visit Xact’s new website at
www.xactlabels.co.nz.
